The Key to Cellulite Reduction
Cellulite reduction is something that is complex. Cellulite
forms from the bulging of the connective tissues in fat cells. These cells are
close to the skin so the bulging appears as dimples on the surface of the skin.
It is usually found in women, but can occur in men. It is not related to weight,
so it can occur in people who are overweight or not. The exact cause of
cellulite is not know and therefore a cure is also not known. There have been
many attempts, though, in cellulite reduction to make it less visible.
The potential causes of cellulite include toxins and
hormones. Some believe that toxin build up in the cells causes the
connective tissue to bulge, while others believe that water gain and loss
due to fluctuating hormones is the cause. It is also believed that the make
up of women’s fat cells may also be the cause. Women’s fat cells and
connective tissue are not very flexible and with any weight gain, even water
weight gain, these cells expand, bulge and do not easily return to their
normal size.
One possible key to cellulite reduction is to keep the
connective tissues in the fat cells as flexible as possible. To do this a
person should eat a diet high in bioflavonoids and vitamin C. Prevention is
the idea because once cellulite has formed it is permanent.
No matter how much fat a person has, they still have fat
cells. This is why weight is not directly related to cellulite. Surgical
removal of the fat cells is the only way to completely get rid of cellulite.
There are, however, options for reducing the appearance of cellulite.
The most common treatments for cellulite involve topical
creams, lotions and other methods. The most promising ingredient for
cellulite treatment is retinol which works to improve the skins make up. It
helps to make the skin thicker, healthier and in effect hides the dimple
effect caused by cellulite. Another skin stimulating ingredient used is
caffeine, which helps to improve blood flow to the skin, helping it to look
healthier and plumper. Most of the treatments involve rubbing something on
the skin to help improve circulation.
Cellulite is something most women learn to live with because
there is no cure. Reducing cellulite after it has already formed is a
difficult task. It is best to fight it before it even begins. The key to
cellulite reduction is to keep it from forming by keeping fat cells pliable
and avoiding excessive weight gain of any type.
