Methods for Cellulite Removal
Cellulite cream is one tool in the battle against cellulite.
Cellulite is something that appears, mainly in women, over time. It is not
related to weight, but does involve fat. It is caused by the bulging of the
connective tissues in fat cells against the skin. It produces a dimpled look
to the skin and usually occurs around the thighs and buttocks.
Cellulite removal is more about controlling cellulite then actually removing
it. The only way to remove cellulite is through surgery to remove the actual fat
cells. Cellulite is caused by the bulging of the connective tissue between fat
cells. This tissue is not very flexible and when it expands, either through fat
gain or water gain it stays bulged and causes the appearance of cellulite.
The bulged fat cells are close to the skins surface and create the
characteristic dimpled look. These cells must be removed or otherwise contoured
to get rid of this appearance. The only method yet devised to do so is through
surgical procedures that aim to break down and resurface the area.
One method used for cellulite removal is called Mesotherapy. This is a
surgical procedure that is like liposuction. It involves injecting the cellulite
areas with a substance that breaks down the fat cells. The fat cells then
dissolve and are carried away naturally through the body. It may take a few
procedures to get complete results, which will greatly depend upon the person
receiving the treatment and their body.
Another method of cellulite removal involves infrared light. The light
contours the skins surface. This method also helps to restructure the ruined fat
cells, which is why it gets rid of the cellulite appearance. It is non-evasive
and can be done within less than an hour. It will likely take numerous
treatments, though, to get desired results.
Most of the focus on cellulite removal lays with creams and lotions which are
massaged onto the skin. These products simply mask the problem, not cure it. As
mentioned, it is the actual fat cells that are the problem. Cellulite can still
be present even if a person loses weight. Once the fat cells are expanded they
can not be reduced back to their former size and therefore cellulite appears.
These treatment methods mask the cellulite by increasing the plumpness of the
skin. They have no effect upon the actual cell. They are temporary and do not
prevent the further development of cellulite.
Surgical methods are the only way to truly get rid of cellulite. Over the
counter methods will not remove cellulite, but will only hide the appearance of
it. The surgical methods that will remove cellulite are often costly and
considered cosmetic, so insurance does not cover them. A person should expect to
have to get multiple procedures done in order to get rid of cellulite for good.
Cellulite removal is something that can not be done overnight and can not be
done by a person themselves.
